In exploring some sites from the list of Web 2.0 Awards, I saw a few things that might have applications for those of us who plan adult library programs.
In "Upcoming," (www.upcoming.yahoo.com)an events site, there is an "add new event" feature.
Also, in "Eventful," (www.eventful.com), there is a way to add events.

Another site where you can post your library program events is on Zvents (http://www.zvents.com).
Here is an example of how the Redwood City Public Library shows upcoming events: http://www.zvents.com/redwood-city-ca/venues/show/269177-redwood-city-public-library-downtown
We also power the online event calendars for 80+ newspapers, and any event you enter in Zvents will automatically be listed on relevant partner sites too.
